La saison des OpenAirs est ouverte
By Greenfield in Interlaken last weekend the Open Air season has officially started. Like every year with hard rock sounds, as it should be.
Await big festival with great acts; a varied music summer is guaranteed!
Next event, which in our agenda is painted in bold, is the OpenAir St.Gallen of 26-28 June. Nine inch Nails and Cypress Hill are the hook this year, but also from the neighboring country great musiciansgive us the honor, most notably Peter Fox, coming with a combo of 16 people. Stress takes care of the hip-hop fans and an insider tip is the quieter sounds of Sophie Hunger. Not only because of the unique atmosphere in Sittertobel I say: go!
The 15-year anniversary this year celebrates the OpenAir Frauenfeld. Initially laughed at, the festival has become the magnet for all hip-hop fans. This year, their hearts will be delighted by Kanye West, Samy Deluxe, Sido and Lil Wayne among many others. And even the big 50cent is showing up to celebrate. The Swiss scene is represented mainly by Gimma and Wurzel5. Also do not miss Liricas Analas, or how often have you heard Hip-Hop in rumantsch?!

Only one weekend later the well-proven Gurtenfestival is taking place (16.-19 July). The terrain on the Bernese „mountain“ is unique and this year's program has many big names to offer: With Franz Ferdinand on Thursday we will start a great weekend of music. On Friday already the first obligated concert is on: Ska-P. At a late hour same night do not miss Bonaparte which guarantee an amazing live show. On Saturday Razorlight is a must, followed by Oasis! Remain where you are and make sure you got a place up front. As it should be for a festival in Bern, Patent Ochsner will sweeten your Sunday afternoon and Kings of Leon will complete a weekend with countless musical highlights. For all fans of big acts!
Unique in the Swiss countryside of Music Festivals is the Paléo in Nyon, July 21 - 26.
Summary is also the programm with a lot of reggae, chanson and Village du Monde: Takana Zion, Pulqueria La, La Grande Sophie, Raphael ... But also the category Rock / Pop / Electro has its space. Among others are to mention Tracy Chapman, Amy McDonald, Pete Doherty, The Prodigy, Moby, and placebo. If you have had enough of music stroll along the numerous market stands or get yourself entertained by the many street-theater troops.
For all the forgotten hippie kids, and those who think 3 days of festival is not enough.
The OpenAir season 2009 ends, as every year, with the OpenAir Gampel. From 13 to 16 August the number of people in the canton of Valais will be doubled. At the begin small and fine, the festival in Gampel is now among the biggest in Switzerland. Over 40 bands make a well-mixed program for everyone. From Culcha Candela and Phenomden on Snow Patrol and Kaiser Chiefs to Silver Moon and Milow. Because there is something for everyone!
