The british band Muse entered the album charts on place 1 with their new album „The Resistance“. We are not surprised. Full concert halls, four successful albums, numerous MTV Europe Music Awards: Muse has gone a successful path since their foundation in 1994. Now, middle of september, their new, fifth album hit the stores.

Not everyone likes the music of Muse. That's ok. Muse sticks with what they are and can do best. And keep going on. The three guys never feared ambitious songwriting and their music is far too inventive and experimental to be compared or even called knockoffs as at they were at the begin of their career. Best example: „The Resistance“.

If the album is better than the four ones before is hard to say. This time as well, the guys make a big step with their sound. It seems as the only real goal is to find new creative ways with each album to make their music even more loud and massive. That is quite a challenge for a three people -band. „The Resistance“ proves that its possible.

A chance to see Muse live in Switzerland is not in sight. At least the raised the number of tickets for their concerts in Hamburg (28.10) and Berlin (29.20).

For decades, she's given us music, sometimes better, sometimes less good. Madonna is omnipresent. Now, a compilation comes on the market that can pass as a Best-of-album. But it also contains a few new songs. It's called "Celebration" and is a retrospective on Madonna's life and work. The single release is also called "Celebration" and just hit the stores. It is Madonnas most calculates single so far.

While all were waiting on it to hear the song before the official release exclusively on the radio as announced by Madonna herself, shortly after a mp3 version circulated on the internet. Everything was aimed to make people more eager and hook them on the new song. All that was staged, of course, by Madonna. Her biggest success was before the Millennium, the compilation an attempt to familiarize new, young fans with her earlier music from the time of this success.




I'm not a Madonna fan, but also with an objective view, or in this case of an objective ear, the song is not convincing. It is too willed, too contrived, too young. Madonna's music is not an expression of an inner urge anymore but a constructed attempt to have young fans and stay young herself. In addition, a DVD, containing numerous of Madonnas music videos is released this month.

Single, Best of-album and DVD - everything smells a bit like a desperate attempt to strongen her position. Madonna should rather leave it at what she has already achieved. That is a lot, and enough.
The Guiness Book of World Records named Madonna the most successful female singer of all times. They're right. Now she just needs to find the right moment of time to quit. The new single speaks for a soon arrival of that moment. We keep the hope up, also in Madonnas interest.

40 years after the Beatles recorded their last songs, their complete works were now released digitally adapted. At the same time a new computer game hit the stores, which makes the player one of the beatles who has to sing, play guitar or drums. It's called „The Beatles Rock Band.“ Both things show, that the guys arent forgotten by far. The reservations on the internet for the digitally adapted were on the very top. Thanks to the digital adaptation the hits of the Beatles sound brighter, single voices and melodies are more clearly. The work on the remake of the 14 albums, who are avialable single or as a collectors edition, went on for four years.

It is expected, that the computer game will reach the same success as for the music. Ex-Beatle McCartney admited in an interview, that he hasn't played the game yet, but thinks that it probably is pretty difficult. He believes furthermore that it will enthuse more teenagers for the music of the Beatles.

For all Beatles-Fans the Computergame as well as the digitally adapted musik is a reason to be excited and hold a Beatles-Holiday.

The Gallagher-brothers have always been in for a scandal and they never really liked each other. Oftentimes the fans feared that the band would spilt. As they do now.

About a week ago, Noel Gallagher announced his exit on the bands homepage. The owing concerts were cancelled. He seems to be serious. After the huge fight with his brother passed weekend, during which they threw around guitars and crashed them until the police was called, he does not want to rejoin the band: „I cant work with my brother for one more day.“

If that would mean the splitting of the band, that would be a pity. Because Oasis has become the most succesful rep of Britpop since their formation 1991 with over 50 million records sold.
Liam on his part emphasizes that he wont let Noel back in the band and does not consider a reconciliation. What all the fans are now wondering, is whether Oasis will split because of that.
Liam Gallagher denies. He wants to continue with Oasis, Noel on his side is planning a solo career.
Will the band be the same without Noel? No. Is that bad? No. And why not? Maybe now, that the Gallagher-brother wont me fighting all the time, the band can concentrate on their music and reach the point of their erstwhile success.

Well, her music isnt everybodys favourite and one may say she is a cheesy popsinger. But one thing she did that barely anyone thought she would and many others cant: She is back.

In the eighties and nineties she was there: at the very top. Her voice made her the new Aretha Franklin, millions of sold records tell. But marrying Bobby Brown, a rapping bad boy, her way down was as steep as her way to the heaven of pop had been. Drugs, violence, excess. Not thanks to her music but with countless scandals she was topic of conversations.

Now she’s back. Like before with melodic R’n B-Pop, but like before with her brilliant voice as well. The tiny, computer-fortified little popvoices from the last couple years should watch out. Cause with her comeback Whitney shows one thing particular: Real talent grows tall, as does bad weed.
