„Was geht?“

Fanta4 celebrates anniversary

With the album "Vier gewinnt" they had their breakthrough, meanwhile their discography has grown to eleven albums. „Die da?“ was their first hit, many others followed, like „Sie ist weg“ or „mfg“. Hardly any other band has influenced the German music and its lyrics as much es they did in the past decades: Die fantastischen Vier.

This summer Thomas D., Smudo, And.Ypsilon and Michi Beck celebrate their 20-year bandanniversary. The four can hardly believe it themselves. "That is really insane," said Smudo in an interview.
Fanta4 has achieved a lot, but most noticable the have legitimized German Hip-Hop and made it presentable. They became the one reference for all followers in German-speaking Hip-Hop.
Besides the big success as a band, the guys have been working and performing solo as well.
The big anniversary will be celebrated with a spectacular big open air concert in Stuttgart on July 25th. "It will definitely be a unique evening, even when everything goes wrong. Then even more."(Smudo).

We’ll see „was geht“.

Little Boots

A great musician in small shoes

She became famous thanks to YouTube. In her videos she sings and plays her songs in her room; “bedroom versions” as she calls it.

Meanwhile, her first album "Hands" in the trade and is in the UK charts on 5th place. Little Boots is the latest new discovery in the world of Electro-Pop. "It is weird, that I should be hip", says Little Boots about the sudden success. She is being compared to Lady Gaga (and comes out much better, if you ask me) and is regarded as the act of the year. Victoria Hesketh, so her real name, meets with her futuristic electro-pop the nerve of time. The critics speak of sparkling, authentic talent and flair for the new. Her album is full with good-mood songs, catchy beats and a scarcely heard combination of melodic pop with synthesizer.

With the success comes the interest of the press. But the 25-year-old is not afraid of them:
"There is no skeleton in my closet. “I never did drugs, smoked a cigarette, always worked hard."

Til the end of the year Little Boots is touring throughout the UK, the USA and Australia. When she will first come to Switzerland, is unfortunately still unknown.

On 8 August her new single "Remedy" will be released.

Voormann for once in the foreground

The „fifth beatle“ finally with own album

He is a man of music history and still too few people know him. Klaus Voormann was a close friend of the beatles, played the bass on many songs from Lennon, Starr and Harrisson after the break-up, he turned Bob Dylans „Mighty Quinn“ into a hit and he played with Eric Clapton. But he remained in the background, left spotlight and fame to others.

Now, age 71, Voormann finally releases his first album. For „A Sideman’s Journey“ Voormann recorded new versions of old songs and for once he was the one being supported by others. With old fellows like Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Cat Stevens he interpreted hits like „Mighty Quinn“ new.

July 3rd the album will be in stores.

A Blur(ry) Documentary

The history of Blur turned into a movie

The former band around Damon Albarn is receiving a special honor: their creation, their success, but also their separation is becoming the subject of a documentary feature length film.

Blur in the 1990s was one of the most important representatives of Britpop. Their albums "Parklife," "Blur" and "13" were among the most successful albums of its genre. But while recording the last album 2004, "Think Tank", leadguitarist Graham left the band (due to artistic differences, as it was called) and so he just took part in one song on that very album. A reunion last year ended with the first two concerts in Hyde Park in London and at the Glastonbury Festival.

The moving story of the band with a load of Sex, Drugs and Rock `n Roll will now be picturized. All former band members are looking forward to bring back to life the good old times more than just by YouTube as up to now.

E.N.D. ist not short for the end, but for The Energy Never Dies. And the title delivers what it promises. The fifth album from Will.I.Am and his crew is energetic and innovative than ever before, with a healthy portion of good BEP beats. We are delighted!

By the Way; on July 6th, the Black Eyed Peas will play in the Stravinski Auditorium in Montreux.
